At work last week I heard of 4 cases of employees getting sv. Two left work to go home sick. My boss took a phone call during our meeting from his wife who said that their new year’s party was cancelled because everyone they knew were v^ing.
I’m freaking out I had to work yesterday but have the next two days off. I am worried because everyone else is getting together for New Years and next week will probably be full of sv again. Ugh! Please help!
Is it everywhere else too?

Your area must be having a small outbreak. Please don’t panic at the word “outbreak.” It is distinctly different from “everybody will get it.” It means that there’s a higher amount of cases in your area than normal. The only thing you can really do is stay extra clean. This should blow over in about 3 weeks maximum, from what I’ve seen. Until then, don’t share food/drink, don’t take food/drink from others that isn’t prepackaged (good restaurants are okay because they are sanitary with food, and take immune system boosters. Basically putting your body in a “safety bunker” so that the “storm” doesn’t “hurt” you if it “hits where you are.” Hope the tornado analogy helps! Try some calming things for your extra anxiety. Personally, I like mint and chamomile tea best.

Thank you Jess, honestly very good advice and comforting words! I figured after this week I should be safer, with everyone getting together for New Years they probably shared it some more. I love my job in Human Resources but I get all the details when people call in!
