So, you may or may not have read that my husband has been unwell. I have finally come to terms with that and the fact he didn't actively v* or have d*.
On a Sunday we normally go to the in-laws for dinner. This weekend we decided to all go out for dinner.
The first thing my mother in law says is that she has had her granddaughter round today, she wasn't very well though as she had been up all night with v* and d*. Firstly I am cross with my sis in law for even considering taking her out the house (she seemed fine just pale was the words used). Secondly my mil just isn't bothered, she said 'ah well if they're going to get it then they're going to get it'! Grrrrrr! I understand bugs can be picked up but why would you take risks with it!
We was supposed to be going back to theirs after dinner but we made our excuses and went to the park instead. It really annoys me that people are so flippant with these things!
My worry firstly is obviously that they were already contaminated and both my m and fil held my sons hand and handled his food! I tried to stop them but no! Secondly is that my son usually goes round there after school on a Wednesday as does my niece (the poorly one). I know my niece will be fine by then but why if my in laws have it by then or my sis in law. Why are people so bloody inconsiderate!
My mil thinks it was something she ate as she was fine but at 1am she woke, v* twice then had d* every 10 mins. That sounds like noro to me! x

Well I will say, I THINK what I had last time was fp* (no one else got whatever I had, and it lasted maybe 12 hours total) But I had loads of d* and some v* from what I believe was bad food...I mean hey, it could be.
But children eat a pretty basic diet. If it was food, I'd like v* 1-2x and then done. It does sound more like a tummy bug. Poor thing.
Anyway, I totally get your outrage. This isn't like a cold where, if you were to get it, you could manage (albeit miserably as colds suck) but with sv*? You're housebound. Hell, toilet bound. And this isn't even considering emet. My non-emet mom has a strict "if the kid is sick they stay home" rule. When I was a child we were at my aunt's for a Christmas party and a family friend bought her sick daughter (actively ill, v* and all) and had this poor kid laying on the couch looking like death. My mom was livid, not just because it could get anyone else sick but just because kids want to be home in bed when they don't feel good. AH IDK, I agree with where you are coming from, though.
Just practice proper hygiene with yourself plus your son for now and keep an eye on the situation. Fingers crossed MIL is doing a good job at keeping the place clean, hopefully nothing will spread in the meantime

Yep, it's definitely a sv*, her dad got it the day after! I'm still scared for Wednesday for when my son goes round. I am not scared of my niece passing it on as she will be past the contagious stage. I am scared that by today/tonight her mum (sis in law) will get it (she hasn't up to last night), my mil will then go round in the morning to pick niece up and then later on tomorrow my sil will go round to mild and pick her up.
Now if sis in law avoids it I think I will be ok. (Niece was staying at someone else house at the time and they didn't catch it straight away). Think my bro in law caught it because his immune system is way down (he has been going through some stuff and barely eating so has lost a lot of weight).
I asked my husband if he can pick our son up from school Weds but he said no he can go to mums! He knows how I feel and to be fair to him he made excuses for us on Sunday not to go round after we'd had dinner but like he says I have to draw the line somewhere. I need to get to this time next week and it will either have gone through the household or we have managed to avoid it!
