Hello everybody!
Today, I went to a restaurant with a group of friends from school (Saturday). I sat next to someone who wasn't at school all week. She said she had a bug on Monday, the bug finished the next day but she still didn't feel well enough for school. I proceeded to eat lunch with my hands (it was a bit hard not to as it was chicken wings) and spend theh rest of the day in close proximity to her. I'm starting to get more anxious by the minute that I'll come down with the v***s. How likely is this to have happened?

Hey, welcome to the forum I'd be really nervous in this situation too. But sv*s usually don't last very long, and if she wasn't at school all week, she'd have definitely gotten over it by today. Also, even though sv*s seem pretty easy to get, and they are contagious, being around her isn't enough to get it. You would've had to share a drink with her, be right next to her as she was v*ing, or clean up her v* (all when she was still contagious.) I'm sure you'll be fine!

It's scary to be in a situation like that, but you'll be okay and won't catch anything from her! Think of how many people who just had a sv* and shared the same space with you without you knowing!
