i'm very very scared right now. 18 hours ago i stupidly ate a chicken skewer that might have been slightly raw on the inside. I am absolutely terrified that I'm going to get food poisoning and I keep have panic attacks. It sounds so stupid but I'd really like some reassurance. It says the wait time for salmonella is 72 hours but i don't think I can wait that long. please help.
The chicken was white all the way through but the inside was very soft and squishy. I might have imagined it but I even thought it had a crunch to it.

Hey! I know you're super scared right now- I get the same way, especially with chicken because we're always told how "dirty" it is. But please remember this - it might take UP TO 72 hours for fp, but, the symptoms usually set in sooner. You'd be feeling something by now. Now - I know you're probably feeling something the second I said that - but that's just anxiety. I know that because you're having panic attacks. Trust me Secondly, even if it was undercooked, it'd have to be left out long enough to get salmonella. Not all raw meat has it. In a lot of cultures people eat raw meat as a delicacy. My boyfriend actually likes it better raw (ew) and he's never gotten sick. As long as the meat was cared for before it was cooked (kept cool, not old) eating it raw would be fine. But! You didn't eat it raw! It's white all the way through - that means it's cooked. You have absolutely nothing to worry about except the anxiety
