COLORING is a great way to relax the mind. You can use any medium you prefer - pencils (my preferred), markers, crayons, oils, chalks, paints, etc. Buy some books from a craft or grocery store (I have geometric butterflies, dogs, cats, sea life, and flower gardens), google image search and print pages out (try googling optical illusion coloring pages), draw your own thing to color (like I draw music stuff), or even get an adult coloring app (the best are recolor and color therapy because they have the most and the best free images, solid colors, gradients, and effects). Give it a try if you are feeling stressed, anxious, bored, relaxed, etc. Put on some nice music or perhaps the tv for background noise, call somebody on the phone, or be in silence. It is truly as nice as they say it is to color.

Ooooh. I love Recolor. It's like...3 bucks a month or something, but they have a ton of pics you can "color". It is quite relaxing and has helped me when I am panicking. Just FYI! I love it. Good advice!

Coloring is one of my favorite relaxing hobbies. I have soooo many coloring books plus the apps on my phone. Favorite apps are Color Therapy (on iOS only) and Recolor. I usually use colored pencil and gel pen, but sometimes markers when I feel like it. Don't like the way they bleed thru though

So it seems recolor and color therapy are definitely the favorite apps of others too! Definitely the best. Recently, recolor has given some gradients to the non-premium members. On paper, I usually use colored pencils, but I got some colored pens for Christmas and want to try those out on some of the more simple designs.

Hello, everybody! Frankly speaking, I think that I only like to relax by painting colorings. As for me, it is the easiest and the most effective way to take a rest from all the thoughts. I find different coloring on the Internet like those from colorkid.net and print them out. I have a couple of applications on mobile devices, but I like to draw with pencils or felt-tip pens. My kids just love coloring, they can be engaged in it for hours. Good luck to all!

I actually saw a coloring book the other night that's to help with relaxation that I am thinking about purchasing. Do it! After seeing posts about coloring on this forum, I've started to make coloring pages for myself in my journal and then color them in. It helps so much, mostly because it allows me to focus on something besides my anxiety- I find that I often get distracted with a book or TV, and sometimes I'm just not in the mood to write. It's great!
