Hi everyone - do you know how long it takes from exposure to illness? I am worried because my sister in law had a sv last Monday night. It seemed that everyone in her family escaped it until last night when her daughter came down with it. Is this possible that it's the same virus? Or do you think the daughter got a different one? Thank you for your thoughts. I hope everyone is doing ok. XO

Possibly a different one but it’s hard to say.
A couple of years ago we were staying at my in laws as we were having some work done at our house. My son came down with a *sv. My in laws didn’t catch it, my husband came home from work (the day after my son *v) and he gave our son a kiss. A week later my husband v*, just the once but he felt awful. Fast forward 3 days and I ended up with d*, also very short lived and I didn’t feel great for a couple of days.
I don’t know whether it was the same *sv or just coincidental. I had tried lobster for the first time too that day and it was almost instantaneous so it could possibly have been that.
I mean, it took a while to get through us and again it was only my son, my husband and I who got ill. I was at the in laws still when the d* started and they didn’t catch anything then either. As far as I’m aware the noro starts within 48 hours so it could be a milder *sv.
Saying that, children get poorly a lot more than adults and for a lot of different reasons. My sister used to always v* with a cold. My niece always v* with a headache that sort of thing xx
Do you have plans to go to your sisters within the next couple of days?

Hi Kirbear - Thank you for the info. I just get so anxious during the time when it's going around. No one else in her house caught it. My whole family is coming to our house tomorrow. I was fine until I got to work today and one of my coworkers is out sick....and guess why? Of course....up since 4am. I am freaking out. I Cloroxed all the phones and handles and computers.
