My mother started vomiting about an hour ago. She ate tuna, chicken, shrimp, granola bars and drank some diet soda to my knowledge. She said that the tuna didn't settle with her since after she ate it after lunch time. I guess she had some Chinese (chicken and shrimp) for dinner. I gave her some of my tums since she said she felt pain due to acid reflux. She also had some pepto bismol. Next thing I know she knocks and tells me to get out of the bathroom right now. So I did and she said "get out I'm about to do something you won't like". And has been vomiting since. My dad tried to calm me down saying the SV isn't going around - he knows no one on his job that has it. My brother said it's not going around at school. I work at the same place as my mom and no one I knew had the virus either, yet here she is v* on and off for a little over an hour now. Please help me. I don't know what to do. My room is right next to the bathroom and it's 12:43am and I can't sleep until I stop hearing it. Help help help!!!

Update: She collapsed on her bed. She said she felt so tired and her belly ached a little. She just v* violently a few minutes ago. I can't tell if it's food poisoning now or the virus.. but it seems it isn't going around. Acid reflux maybe? I really need help or a conversation.
Update #1: It's 1:31am and she went back to the bathroom to continue her v* 20 minutes ago. >.< This is so awful. Update #2: It's now 2:46am. I haven't heard anything since around 2am. Please lord, I pray it stopped for good!! Update #3: It is 3:10am. I haven't heard any v* from her still. Still in panic mode praying whatever she has isn't contagious. She has no other symptoms but the n* and v* she felt an hour ago. Update #4: It is now 4:04 and has been roughly 2 hours. I am going to try to sleep and really really hope the quiet remains..

I'm sorry you're in this situation, it sounds terrifying. Now it does sounds like food poisoning, since she was able to eat all that food before getting ill. Especially since she didn't feel s* until AFTER eating those meals, along with the acid reflux happening. It must have just upset her stomach. Not to mention, Chinese food, specifically seafood, is rather notorious for causing illness. If she only v* with no fever or d*, it's very most likely food poisoning. Until you know for sure, keep up your hand washing especially, but try to relax the best you can. Hopefully, the worst is over keep us posted too, please!!

I have yet to leave my room but I heard her talking and laughing. She is moving around. She hasn't done any v* since 2am. It seemed like it all stopped at that time. Ok I left my room. She is eating. I asked what went down last night and she said it was something she ate but she feels better again just feeling tired.

She definitely had fp. It is more probable to be the Chinese food than the tuna, but either way, she got it out of her system and should be perfectly fine now! Try to relax. If you can or if somebody else can do it for you, have the bathroom cleaned just as a precaution, and wash your hands before eating as always. It's horrible that you had to go through that, but just remember that you can't catch it!i see your profile says you had fp in 2016, so you know what it's like and trust that you can't catch it. Now that your mom is done, just try to take it easy. Maybe you should avoid her today to keep the peace.

She is mostly tired than anything and she might prepare dinner later. I am not sure how I feel about that. The bathroom got bleached and sprayed down by lysol. Keeping my distance just in case!

Oh, restaurants! I always feel uncomfortable going to a new one. In the span of 1 month I've eaten at 6 new places because I've been on 2 vacations and I'm so glad they all ended up being good. Honestly, you should probably cook for your mom so that she doesn't have a chance to. You would be fine eating whatever she makes, but to keep your sanity I'd suggest making it so that she can't prepare the food. It's great that she's feeling over it though!

I am usually good with eating at new places. That time was just bizarre but I havent went there since. Oh yeah my mom has been doing chores around the house. Spring cleaning, vacuuming, I think she did the dishes at one point. She is tired from last night and her appetite isn't the best but other than that it all stopped for her suddenly. Thank you for responding.
