Default I'm really scared! On Friday my preschooler told me his tummy hurt really bad as we were heading home. He said he didn't want a snack and just wanted to go home and take a nap. I knew he must've been feeling awful if he willingly put a nap on the table!
About an hour into his nap, he sat up and began to v*! All over himself, the bed, even the dog! I got him into my bathroom to finish and all in all the poor guy probably v*d about five or six times in succession. He was so scared and crying in between so I just keep calm and reassured him that he was going to be ok and mommy was there for him.
Once he finished I got him cleaned up, stripped the bed, gave the dog a bath, and bleached the toilet, bathroom floor, tub, and then thebedding. He had two doses of emetrol and didn't v* again. Yesterday he was able to eat some applesauce and crackers little by little and also kept small amount of liquid down. By last night he was singing and playing again.
I actually remained pretty calm and even thought I might not get it. My husband normally handles the cleaning up of v* and such, but he was in DC because of the inauguration so it was me against the v*. I really thought i would be ok... but now I have d* and n* and I'm TERRIFIED!!!! I just took a zofran after the last bought of d* which I really didn't want to do because it was my last one and I have no refills until I see my dr next.
So, what do you think? Have I caught whatever he had? For the record, he never did get d* or fever. He only had the mild chills during and right after but I suspect that was more due to his fear and adrenaline. I'd appreciate any support or insight!

Hey kitnyre, sorry you're not feeling well today. You seem to have handled your ill son beautifully! I know how scary it can be in this situation. Your best bet is for the time being to eat light or bland foods and drink tea or water.
With that said, you were exposed and may well have gotten it. The good news here is that as an adult your immune system is much more capable of handling bugs better than a child's immune system is, and v* is less likely. Even still the d* could be caused from nerves. If you do in fact have sone thing please realize that you are strong and that this silly little bug isn't the end of the world! I'd also suggest you reach out to a member here, samimichelle08 as she recently went through it and can offer great words of encouragement! Take a look through her posts in the private section.
Try to relax and give yourself some tlc, see how you feel each hour.

How are you feeling now? When you have a sv,* if you are going to v,* it almost always occurs 15-20 minutes after the d.* If it hasn't happened yet, you're in the clear you may have caught your son's sv,* but if the v* hasn't happened yet, you are most likely not going to v* from it. Adults often experience milder symptoms than children when they get a sv.*

So far, so good! I've still got a hint of * but it's mostly in the back of my throats so it doesn't worry me too much, just unpleasant. I haven't had any more d* either so I'll take that as a positive! Thank you guys for replying and checking in with me! It's nice to back in a forum with people that understand!
