my friend who I sit by (like, we share a table) in class told me that last night at her swim meet she was s* and had to leave early. She thinks she has the flu or is coming down with it. Am I at risk of catching it?

stomach bugs are not airborne. you will be just fine. do not share drinks or food with her of course and don't touch her if you can help it, wash your hands, bathe asap, etc. unless she v* RIGHT next to you and the particles shot up in the air, you'll be just fine.

Nah, you should be fine. Specific to swimming, at two of my meets girls had v* because there was some minor sv* going around the team. I didn't get it, and was perfectly fine. I doubt they gave it to you, assuming they actually have one, just by sitting near you. Unless you held hands then started eating finger foods or something, you should be good!
If you don't mind me asking, are you sure this should be an emergency panic-post?

Yeah I definitely think you're fine. And if she said she had the flu, she probably means the typical flu, not the stomach flu. Hope everything works out
