Hey guys.. so my friend had norovirus last weekend (10-11 days ago) and i was with him tonight and wasn't thinking but he touched my pencil and I definitely touched my mouth and ate food after touching my pencil again. Will I get it? I'm freaking out.

Very doubtful. IF noro even got on his pencil at all the virus most likely died by now. CDC and other health sources say if can be on hard surfaces for up to 2 weeks...meaning 2 weeks max.
So fret not, I think you will be just fine.

He touched my pencil tho and idk if he's still contagious? Those with noro typically stop being contagious after 3 days

Even if he only washed his hands once a day (not to mention showers), he shouldn't have any virus on him. I think your safe.

so do you think i'm fine? thanks so much for replying so fast!! I think you're definitely fine! You don't really get it from something as simple as touching a pencil, even if you use your hands to eat after, you typically get it from ingesting particles of v* from someone who is sick. Also he probably wasn't contagious!

People go to the bathroom, don't wash their hands, then eat with the d particles still on their hands. Gross, I know.
