so I know a fever off 99 in an adult is no big deal usually... but I have some weird stomach cramps going on and some pretty awful nausea too..... I have a really big test to take in a couple hours and I'm freaking out!!! is a 0.4 degree increase something to worry about? an hour ago i was not even 98 degrees. I am losing my mind. someone talk me down edit: I really hate how emetophobe's minds snowball like this. a "normal" person wouldn't think anything of my symptoms. but a low grade fever and some unsettling gastro symptoms have me in full-blown panic mode. I just don't know what to do right now.

Hi, a fever of 99 is actually pretty normal. I've freaked out about having them too, but they didn't turn into anything. I sometimes get them when I'm on my period, actually. Also, a fever would not be the first symptom of a sv.* As for the upset stomach feelings, it's possible that you're just anxious about your test. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure it's just stress, as stress can (and often does, for us phobes) cause an elevated temperature and gastro symptoms. Try taking deep breaths, sipping cool water, and remembering that with an emetophobic mind, chances are extremely great that you're completely fine.
Also, good luck on that test!
