obviously I'm an emet. I've only v* once in my life and that was a six years old, so I clearly don't remember it. I was wondering what really is the feeling of nausea. Im always scared that Im feeling it but I never really know if its nerves or what. Any tips to separate one from the other and can anyone explain the feeling of nausea

I think nausea is hard to describe, kind of a general uneasiness and, in my experience, my stomach just feels gross. It's never been painful for me but the area just feels completely gross.
If you're curious what the moment right before you actually get sick feels like - in my experience it starts with the nausea I described above but then you can actually feel the rise of your stomach contents. Sort of like a pressure moving up from your stomach that's feeling really gross, toward your throat. For me, it's always been with a "watery mouth" too - where your mouth starts to fill (rapidly - there is no mistaking this part) with a funny tasting saliva. In this moment you just know, without question, you need to get to a toilet/someplace because it is almost certainly going to happen unless you are able to suppress it.
As far as suppressing it - I've been able to do it successfully in this moment by taking long deep breaths and spitting out that saliva as quickly as it fills my mouth. Sort of gross but I'll usually just be sitting on the bathroom floor next to the toilet just in case it does happen, and constantly spitting out the saliva into the toilet while taking deep breaths and focusing on not letting anything up.

Hmm I'm not positive on a number exactly... more times than I can count I guess but still not very much. I'm 28 right now and I have only done it 2 times since I was in 5th grade... during 3 separate stomach bugs (2 of them I vomited once, and one of them not at all.) During 5th grade I had a really bad bug where I did it several times but I don't remember how many...I would guess 3-5 episodes that time but again, not positive. Prior to that I have a memory of it happening 2 other times (but my emet wasn't very bad at all back then so it's possible it was more than that, but maybe not) I also know I had a really bad bug when I was 2 that left me very dehydrated so I had to go to the hospital. Glad the description was helpful! I agree that talking about it can often help me feel better too... I actually thought I was the only one though because most people seem to have a hard time talking about it.
