Hello, I am new to forums but at 12pm (11 hours ago). I went for a late breakfast at this pub and I think my egg was undercooked.
It looked fine when I started to eat it (by the way, I always check my food before I eat it like shining my phone torch on the inside of a burger) anyway, close to the end of the egg, I only like the yolk of the egg, it looked a bit white and see through... THEN I NOTICED IT WAS GOOEY AND LOOKED RAW. I complained and the waiter said they use a press to cook the eggs and it could have missed it a bit.
Bottomline, will I get food poisoning? Will I V*? How can I prevent it.. please help. I am so scared and alone...

I think you'll be perfectly fine. Maybe part of the egg wasn't cooked. But think about how many people eat brownie/cake batter and cookie dough. That has raw egg in it, and people who eat it always turn out fine. If you ate like 10 raw eggs, then you'd be in trouble, but part of one egg being raw will leave you perfectly fine.

I don't think you have anything to worry about. That would gross me out too! But lots of people eat raw eggs. And what Superhero said, lots of people eat batter and dough. I'm with you though....ugh.

I'm another one who has eaten plenty of raw cookie dough in my life without an issue.
Also, occasionally I'll make fresh caesar salad and that's made with raw egg yolks!
The egg would have had to be contaminated for you to get sick from it and that chances of that are very low!

My mom makes her own mayonnaise, and uses it to make tuna/chicken salad. I LOVE both of those, and eat as much as I can. However, and I only just found this out myself, her mayonnaise is pretty much just mustard, lemon juice, salt, and... raw eggs. Mixed with a ton of chicken or fish.
I've eaten so much of this over the years and never once got sick (knock on wood, that's what's for dinner tonight!)

Hey there y'all, just reporting that I ate a good three raw eggs yesterday, along with two day old chicken, and I'm not even n! You guys should all be just fine So long as you're not eating an egg that has been sitting, cracked open, in the sun for days, you'll be fine. In germany, they don't even refrigerate the eggs! But don't try that in the US, the shells are weaker here in teh name of "safety".
