I'm in English class and I normally experience IBS, but I think I'm having a flare. I got the sudden urge to use the bathroom and immediately started freaking out. I think I've let myself get way too upset about it since there are so many cases of the sv right now. I'm shaking and I'm really needing to use the bathroom again but I've freaked myself out so much. I can't think straight and I'm terrified that I'm going to get sick in class. I've spotted 3 trash cans just in case but I'm really far from the door. I just need to stop shaking and I think I'll be alright. My stomach doesn't feel too bad, I just have the urge to defecate. The lower part of my stomach is pretty cramps though. I wish this would just go away, I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS.

I know it's freaky, you're doing fine though! I'm sure you know anxiety can cause d*. I feel like total sh*t during a panic, it feels completely real. Are you in highschool or college if I can ask? College you shouldn't be afraid to just step out and take a few minutes (or longer) to calm down. No one will really think twice about it. Highschool would be a little trickier. Either way talking to your professor or TA about this really might help. Hopefully by now you're feeling a little better. Are you recieving any treatment for this?

I'm in high school. I see a pediatric gastroenterologist for my digestive issues and I'm having a colonoscopy and endoscopy on Tuesday next week. Most of my teachers know, and are okay with me leaving. I don't want to miss class time to calm down or make a scene and fall behind so I normally just stay in class

If I need to get out of class in high school, and I know that waiting for the panic to go away on it's own while suffering through it isn't a good idea at the time, then I will request to go to my locker or the bathroom (or just slip out, not caring what happens because I need to get away immediatly). At my locker I can take deep breaths and drink water, and if after that I'm not good to go back to class then I can go take a walk. If somebody sees me, I can say "I'm going to the bathroom" or "I've left something in my last class". Be careful what teachers and other staff know, because you may find some to be much less supportive than others. Hell, I had a panic attack last year from a graphic sea-s**kness conversation in history last year and had to sit in the hall, and the next school day the teacher purposely pulled me to the side and said something about v* that others would find funny but it made me anxious.

I had to leave my best friends funeral because I panicked. I had been crying so hard, that of started to gag and couldn't stop. I couldn't breathe. I had lost part of my heart and just felt like poopie. It happens. Maybe keep some lavender essential oils around you to calm your nerves when you feel your guts start to move.
