My 1 1/2 year old have a sv...I think. She had three yucky diapers today but I didn't get too freaked out because she's had much worse and it not be a sv. Well about 4 hours after the last dirty diaper she started v. She got sick once in the car, once at my parents, and once at our house. A total of three v episodes in 2 hours. She hasn't had any problems since 7:30. My husband gave her sprite and she was able to keep that down also. I'm still very very scared! I've bleached the house like crazy but haven't attempted to tackle the car yet.
Question, I know the "spray" from v can be inhaled and that be one way of catching it. She v in the car while her dad and I were in the front seat and she was in the back. Can the particles reach that far? She also got sick once in front of me but my husband quickly grabbed her so I don't think that time I inhaled it.
On another note, her diapers weren't alarming and I was constantly putting diaper rash cream on her so I know I touched some of it and possibly didn't wash my hands well.
Well, she just woke up and threw up again. I can't do this guys! I ran.. I panicked. I'm the worst mother ever!!

You have to stop thinking this makes you a bad mom. It makes you a person who has weaknesses, just like everyone else, okay?
It might not be sv*. Kids that young are going through a lot in their little bodies. Also, many of the viruses that young children get are viruses that adults don't get, or get only d*.
Hang in there! You will make it through this.

You're right.. I just feel bad for running. I've done good all evening with her until the last episode. I was able to clean her bucket out though, so that's a plus I guess.
I'm really hoping my husband and I don't catch it. My husband has been sitting with her every time she v so he's 100% been exposed. And I'm 99.9% sure that I have.
I think what bothers me the most is that a sv just went through our house in September and I'm just now getting to where I'll eat and drink normally. I actually was in the process yesterday writing a "praise" post because it had been 2 weeks of no anxiety attacks. I was so proud of myself. And then this happens! If I catch it I'm afraid I'll never get better. There's got to be a way to not catch these things.

Yeah...I understand. I would be terrified. I am not even close to as grave as you. Some people say acv will keep you from getting it. Some say grape, juice. Act. Charcoal is another option, but I am not sure how that'd be during pregnancy. Ginger and garlic might also help!

Thank you. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow so I'm going to ask about the charcoal and see if it's safe. I'm definitely going to pick up grape juice too. I'm trying my hardest to fall asleep but it's seriously so hard. I'm sleeping in the other room (per husbands orders) and I'm terrified I'll wake up gagging. It's been close to 10 years since I've had a bad sv. The one in September was traumatizing but it was very mild. This sv doesn't seem so mild. I just heard my daughter wake up and gag again so it's a hard one. I'm hoping its Roto and not Noro..but who knows. Well, I guess we will I'm about 36 hours. 😒

You will be fine, same thing happened with my daughter about 6 months ago, she was the same age then She was fine all morning dropped her off with her grandad when I went to work and got a text at 5pm saying she was v* so had to leave work early, it happened in the car 3 times, on the living room floor, on the sofa (in my spot) and our bedroom floor, she couldn't keep anything down at all and v* 2 - 3 times an hour for over 24 hours so we ended up in hospital with other sick kids and non of us caught anything from her even my girlfriends mum was fine despite catching V* in her hands to try and save the car seats and not washing her hands

I sure pray I don't catch it! Thankfully we've had buckets and she's only wanted to lay in our arms. (Mostly my husbands arms..I swear she already knows that I can't handle it but that kind of breaks my heart).. I haven't been able to sleep at all tonight because I've been so worried that I'll wake up sick. She only threw up 4 times in 3 1/2 hours. And the last time she got sick was because she ingested bath water and my husband gave her sprite.. I think her belly needed rest from liquid and food. Anyway, I hope there have been other mommas with good reports like yours. And I hope mine is the same. Were you a freaked out mess asp?? I can barely put a handle on my panic.

I was a mess right from the moment I read that test message, I'd just sat down to eat but panic set in right away I felt sick even though I knew we couldn't have been exposed to the same thing and she couldn't have passed anything to me at that point so I didn't manage to eat anything, I knew I had to go home but that was the last thing I wanted to do, her been sick has been one of my worst fears since my girlfriend got pregnant I felt horrible for weeks after because all she wanted was comforting, it was the first time she had experienced v* she wasn't old enough to understand what was happening but i couldn't handle it, I didn't even want her to come near me I felt like to worst dad in the world at that point, I just kept telling myself that most things young children pick up usually only cause d* in adults and even if I did end up v* as hard as that would be for me to deal with it was for my little girl and shes worth it. But Im still scared to death of her if I think she might v*

If I catch it, I'll more than likely head on into the hospital to make sure baby is fine and get fluids. I just have to remember that people v all the time. My daughter v and she survived. I can too.
