Hello! I'm new to the forum but certainly not new to emetophobia.
I'm getting an endoscopy tomorrow and they said that the anesthesia that I'll have will put me into a "twilight sleep" rather than put me completely under like a full blown general anesthetic would do. I've been under general anesthesia in the past for a tonsillectomy and got sick from the anesthesia. I talked about anti-emetics with the nurses involved in my procedure tomorrow, but they said they don't ever give out anti-emetics before/with this procedure at their office and haven't seen anyone get sick from it since there are no pain meds and it's such a low dose. Although they haven't seen anyone get sick from this procedure, I'm still freaking out because they will not give me the anti-emetic. I'm mainly posting to vent but if anyone has had anything like this happen to them it would be helpful for some advice. Thanks.

Hey.
I chose to have my endoscopy fully awake although I did have sedation with a colonoscopy. The first one I had I was really heavily sedated and I hated it (I'm not good with any anaesthesia, I never v* I just get really dizzy and feel horrid), the second colonoscopy I was only mildly sedated, I felt completely alert all the way through, I didn't even feel like I had been injected with anything, I just felt relaxed and at ease. It wasn't until I was travelling home afterwards I just came over so tired and I was zonked out then for a couple of hours but definitely no feelings of n*
