If your mom and brother had it almost 2 weeks ago, you're definitely in the clear!

2 weeks is a long time to worry about this! Aww. I would say you're in the clear. Sometimes I eat too much of one thing and it gives me D*. Or I eat half a bag of Gardettos, and it gives me D*. But: Worrrrrrth it!

I think I'm just really anxious about my colonoscopy and I think I'm going to cancel it I mean...should you be getting this procedure? Should you push through the anxiety? I might've missed it, but if it's important, I wonder if you should try. If it can be rescheduled, then okay. But I know that my phobic mind would just keep avoiding and avoiding and never do it. Sometimes it's best to just take the leap.

And I just don't want a surgery or anything that I'd have to deal with the general anesthesia and all of the things that can go wrong. I'm literally so scared. I think I've scared my self sick.

That sounds likely. I don't know how they would diagnose IBS with a colonoscopy. Did you tell them that you have anxiety? I had a ton of tests once because I was anxious and anorexic...they diagnosed me with GERD. Which is just a general term for gastro issues. Obvi I didn't tell them about the anorexia...but...they found nothing.
What percentage of your gastro issues are anxiety, in your honest opinion...if you're honest with yourself?

Honestly I think 75% of the time it's anxiety related. A lot of the time IBS is anxiety related in the first place, but the symptoms are real definitely. But it was bad enough in August (almost everyday for a week I v*) that I was referred to a pediatric specialist and we tried different meds and even some anxiety meds that help with IBS, he says he thinks it's IBS but he wants to check everything else out first to make sure it's not crohns or UC. My blood levels were somewhat elevated which can mean inflammation. IBS can't be diagnosed formally so they have to rule out everything else before giving you an "IBS" diagnosis.

If it makes you feel any better, I've had a colonoscopy and endoscopy before. They put me in a weird twilight zone state and when I woke up I felt fine! No nausea, nothing! I actually left and grabbed food and ate.
I had mine done because they thought I had something more wrong with me than IBS. But they found nothing and ruled it as IBS. I eventually found out it was actually my gallbladder and had that taken out.
Anyway good luck! Try and not to stress too much about it!!

Get the colonoscopy. It's so scary to think about a future procedure. Trust me. I had a colonoscopy back in 2006 and remember crying the whole morning before. I was terrified! But I had no choice. The procedure was like I closed my eyes one second and opened my eyes and I was already in the recovery room. Worst part? The prep which gives you d* (obviously) but it's not sick d* so try to push through that part thinking "I'm not sick, this is totally normal part of a colonoscopy."
I also had 2 endoscopies and 1 other anesteisa-related proceudre back in Oct. I had to get up at 5am and was like 99% about to cancel it but I thought if I just keep pushing it back it will ONLY MAKE THE ANXIETY WORSE. I am sorry but the people telling you here to cancel it bc the thought is giving you anxiety should not be saying that. (I hate the enabling that goes on around here). You can do it. If I did it, you can. And I am soooooo weak mentally.
